For sure the bed is a place where our bodies can rest, where intimacies are lived and our minds can wander off into a dreamworld.
Our focus was on this mix, of the pleasant and uncomfortable in this very intimate space.
To intensify the experience we invited guests to crawl with us into a huge pyjama, specially crafted for this performance. Over a period of two days we created situations in which one can relax, discover, dream, watch, listen or participate.
There were be lullabies, movies, bedtime stories and snacks... but it also got crowded, sweaty, crumbly and rough.
Like the bed, the night gown embodies a place of intimacy and comfort, but also represents a space that is totally non-discriminatory, that hosts people of all genders, sexualities, skin colours and social backgrounds.
Our aim was to extend this term by all means, creating a welcoming temporary accommodation for everyone who wanted to participate, while challenging the original coziness and privacy of the bed as such.
